Golf at Dorset Field Club

The golf program at the Dorset Field Club has PGA golf professionals that will custom design a program that best suits your needs. There are many events throughout the season from weekly golf clinics that cover all aspects of the game, for men & women. Whether you are a beginner or a highly skilled player, we are dedicated to providing you with an unparalleled golf experience each time you step onto the golf course.  Members enjoy year round instruction and have access to our "AboutGolf Simulator w/video and TrackMan 4 Launch Monitor.

Juniors may participate in golf clinics and golf schools designed for them throughout the summer.

The golf course is consistently maintained in the highest quality condition by our professional grounds crew.

      A short Par 4 with a narrow tree lined fairway, your approach will be over a stream guarding a small green.

      Pro's Advice: An accurate tee shot between 200-250 yards will put you in perfect position. Anything longer will leave you a downhill lie in the rough. Your approach should be below the pin leaving you an uphill putt.

      The Dorset Field Club hosts golf events throughout the year including the Vermont Golf Association 4-Ball Tournament, Vermont State Amateur, Vermont State Men’s & Women’s Golf Association State Days, and the Vermont PGA Pro AM. The Club’s variety of tournament formats encourages competitive play, sportsmanship and enduring friendship among all participants.

    • The Pro Shop is a welcoming place, where members are greeted by the Golf Professional staff, who assist with many functions of the golf experience at the Dorset Field Club, including getting a game, merchandise selection and special orders, tournament registration and golf instruction.

    • The Dorset Field Club has PGA professionals on staff. All four professionals offer instruction, employing both modern technologies and time-honored teaching tactics to achieve best results. Programs include: Private Lessons, Group Clinics, Junior Summer Clinics, Junior Golf Schools.

  • Meet the Golf Pros

      Patrick Berry
      Head Golf Professional

      Patrick Berry is in his fourth season as Head Golf Professional at Dorset Field Club. He is originally from Laconia, New Hampshire. Patrick spent the last 15 years working at John's Island Club in Vero Beach Florida, and had been the Head Professional at John's Island West since 2006. During the summer months, Patrick spent time at Baker Hill Golf Club in Newbury, New Hampshire, Myopia Hunt Club in South Hamilton, Massachusetts, and Carnegie Abbey Club in Portsmouth, Rhode Island. Patrick is married to Amanda, and they love to spend their free time with their dogs, Harley and Chili.


      Susan Fasoldt 
      Assistant Golf Professional

      Susan began her Golf Professional career in 1999 at Reeves Golf Club in Cincinnati, Ohio.  She relocated to Sarasota in 2000 and served as an Assistant Golf Professional at TPC Prestancia until 2004.  Susan has been at Stoneybrook Golf and Country Club since 2004 and currently serves as their Director of Instruction.   She also spent 2 summer seasons in Vermont as a Golf Instructor at the Stratton Mountain Golf School.  Susan is looking forward to exploring the areas many hiking trails in her free time.


      David Zalbowitz
      Assistant Golf Professional

      David was born into a golfing family in Binghamton, NY. He worked for 12 years at the Glacier Club in Durango, CO and while working there he became a Class A member of the PGA in 2005.   He returned east and has taught for 9 seasons at the Golf School at Stratton Mountain Resort here in VT. He now spends his winters teaching golfers in Sarasota, FL. In his free time, David likes to chase a tennis ball around the courts and he is writing a novel.



      Justin McCarthy

      Assistant Golf Professional


      Originally from Woodbridge, Connecticut, Justin is entering his second season at Dorset Field Club.  He is a recent graduate of Methodist University, where he studied Business Administration with a concentration in Professional Golf Management.   During the winter months, Justin was at Royal Poinciana Golf Club in Naples, FL.  For the summer months, Justin has spent time as an intern at The Patterson Club (Fairfield, CT), Country Club of Birmingham (Birmingham, AL), Woodmont Country Club (Rockville, MD), and Silver Spring Country Club (Ridgefield, CT).  Outside of golf, Justin enjoys fly fishing.
