DORSET FIELD CLUB HIRES NEW EXECUTIVE CHEF


The Dorset Field Club is pleased to announce the appointment of its new Executive Chef and Head of Food and Beverage, Philippe Ducrot. Chef Ducrot is originally from Provence, France and now resides in North Shrewsbury, VT. He delights in sharing his passion for food and is widely recognized for using palate-pleasing combinations of ingredients to create unique harmonies of flavors.  He holds three culinary degrees and is an acclaimed leader in the organic, farm-to-table movement. 

General Manager Patrick McGuire said, “We are very excited to welcome Chef Ducrot to our club.  He comes to us after a nationwide search that produced over 100 applicants; and his extensive culinary background will help take our dining experience to a new level.”

Chef Ducrot was most recently Executive Chef at Basin Harbor Resort & Boat Club in Vergennes, VT where he was responsible for several a la carte dining rooms, plus weddings and special events throughout the season.  He set their culinary vision and was credited with increasing guest satisfaction with a menu that featured unpretentious yet spectacular cuisine, and included gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan fine dining.

Prior to Basin Harbor, Chef Ducrot enjoyed an illustrious career in France, Italy, Canada and New England. He has worked as executive chef, turnaround consultant, chef de cuisine, and chef-owner at many well-known restaurants including the Michelin-starred Polo Club in Paris, which has served Europe’s elite for over 200 years.

In addition to his culinary skills, Chef Ducrot is also a widely sought-after culinary instructor and was instrumental in the development of cutting-edge classes in Menu Design, as well as Restaurant Desserts and French Regional Cuisine at the renowned Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management Institute at PTC.

Chef Ducrot has been an active fundraiser for the Single Parent Scholarship Fund, the Diamond Chef Annual Competition Fund, the Chef Ball, and the University of Arkansas Medical Center Nutrition and Health Initiative.  He is also a member of the American Culinary Federation.

The Dorset Field Club, the oldest continuously operating golf course in the United States, is located in Dorset, Vermont, nestled in the valley of the Taconic and Green Mountains.
